The Baden-Württemberg Police University trains the next generation of police officers for all police forces in Baden-Württemberg and guarantees the ongoing training of police officers. With over 1,300 employees, we regularly train over 3,500 police officers at eight locations. We are looking for employees who are committed and reliable to help us shape these varied and responsible tasks.

Your tasks

Performing the function of kitchen manager (f/m/d) and managing the kitchen team with a total of currently 2 chefs and 18 kitchen staff
Organization of the kitchen operations and management of the kitchen team (e.g. creating duty rosters and vacation schedules)
Demand-oriented menu design and preparation of meals (approx. 750 lunches and 300 early meals) with the involvement of the chefs
Purchasing catering and other consumables, receiving goods
Participation in the procurement of kitchen machines, appliances and kitchen equipment with invoice processing
Cost accounting, calculation and monitoring
Monitoring the quality system to ensure compliance with the requirements of DGE certification (Job & Fit)
Warehouse management of food and consumables stocks using an inventory management system
Responsibility for warehousing/stock and the economical use of foodstuffs
Observance and implementation of food law regulations and accident prevention in the catering business
Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
Organization of special events (e.g. swearing-in ceremonies)
Serving meals
Operating various (large) kitchen appliances and instructing kitchen staff
Technical support of the chip card system
Invoicing for the catering operation

Your qualifications

Applications are open to persons with training as a chef (f/m/d)
Professional experience in the area of responsibility described above
Several years of experience in kitchen operations, preferably in the preparation of communal catering
Knowledge of personnel management and employee motivation
Management experience in gastronomy / catering or commercial kitchens
Independent and self-reliant way of working with high quality standards
Ability to work in a team, flexibility, commitment and physical resilience (lifting and carrying loads of up to 20 kg)
Social skills, ability to cooperate and deal with conflict
