
The state of Rhineland-Palatinate is seeking, to start as soon as possible, a
Cook (m/f/d)
to be hired for a part-time, shift-based position totaling 25 hours per week on a permanent basis, plus a temporary component of 8.5 hours – starting November 1, 2026 – resulting in a total workweek of 33.5 hours out of 38.5 hours.
The 8.5-hour portion of the position will be limited to one year at a time after July 31, 2027,

Responsibilities:
- Providing meals for students and boarding students
- Purchasing, cost calculation, and warehouse logistics
- Developing meal plans based on cost considerations and ensuring compliance with DGE guidelines
- Preparing and cooking meals
- Establishing workflows and scheduling staff
- Retention samples
- Compliance with HACCP guidelines
- Cleaning the kitchen area in accordance with hygiene regulations
We expect you to have completed vocational training as a chef, preferably with professional experience. You should have good communication skills when interacting with students, teachers, and parents. Physical and mental resilience, initiative, the ability to work independently, and the ability to cooperate and work as part of a team are required.
Willingness to work flexible hours and to cover shifts on weekends, holidays, and during school breaks is required.
