Your Job
Here’s what you can expect on your journey with us:
- Leading the onboard IT team
- Responsibility for ensuring the efficient and professional operation of all IT networks and systems on board, including the Internet and onboard portal, multimedia platforms, the IT component of the V-Sat system, servers, databases, the network, hardware, and accessories
- Independent upkeep, maintenance, and repair of all IT components on board
- Administration of the Microsoft-based IT infrastructure, including ship communications (SatComm / data / Internet) and the virtualization environment (ESX Farm)
- Onboard IT support services; assisting all departments (Hotel, Deck, and Engine) with any issues
- Troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues and outages
- Setup, takedown, and operation of check-in stations during passenger changes
- Contract duration for your first assignment: 4 months; subsequent contracts possible
Your Course & Your Talents
Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:
- Professional training in the IT field with at least 2 years of work experience, preferably on a cruise ship.
- Business acumen, ability to work within a budget, and the ability to present and analyze financial targets
- Very good German and English skills (spoken and written)
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Assertiveness, flexibility, and organizational skills
- Confident and professional demeanor, good manners
