Is versatility your great talent and is this what you want from your job? As a Junior HR Officer (f⁠/⁠m⁠/⁠d) at sea chefs, you can expect more than just a varied job in the HR team – you will also immerse yourself in the world of seafaring!
As the contact person for HR-relevant topics and the cordial support of our sea chefs teams at the Hamburg and Berlin locations, you will work closely with the Head of Human Resources. Together you will ensure that the approximately 70 employees in our family-run, medium-sized company are supported and promoted in the best possible way. You will make a significant contribution to creating a positive and appreciative working environment.
The main activities include
- Supporting the Head of Human Resources in HR and labor law issues.
- Supporting and retaining employees, being the point of contact for inquiries on HR-related topics, with the ability to act in the interests of employees and the company’s objectives.
- Support in all administrative processes throughout the employment cycle, such as:
- Administration and maintenance of personnel files and updating in the HR system „Kenjo“, among others.
- Creation and processing of personnel-related documents, such as employment contracts, references and certificates.
- Coordination and implementation of the entire onboarding and offboarding process as well as job interviews.
- Organization and coordination of internal and external training and further education measures.
- Assistance with payroll accounting (e.g. e-AU & AAG applications, data entry, preparation of documents).
- Supervision of interns and dual students and communication with their vocational colleges and universities.
- Co-designing and supporting HR projects, including data analysis and reporting to support HR decisions.
- Organizing employee events and initiatives to promote team spirit.
Your course & your talents
What you bring with you:
- Completed vocational training as a human resources specialist or comparable vocational training or further training or studies in human resources management.
- Initial experience in HR, for example through internships or working student activities.
- Loyalty to the company and ability to act in the interests of employees and company goals
- Empathy, team spirit and social skills
- Strong service orientation, hands-on mentality and proactive way of working.
- Discretion, trustworthiness and good communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of modern HR topics and processes, with a willingness to familiarize yourself with them.
- Confident handling of MS Office; ideally initial experience with HR software.
- Very good German and good written and spoken English skills.
