Your Job
Is versatility your greatest strength, and do you want the same from your job? As a Travelling Light Technician (w⁠/⁠m⁠/⁠d) at sea chefs, you can look forward to more than just a varied role on the entertainment team—dive into the world of seafaring!
- First point of contact on shore for questions regarding work processes and crew life for all lighting technicians on the Mein Schiff fleet
- Establishing work processes for recurring tasks in the field of lighting technology in collaboration with TUIC Entertainment Technology
- Supporting the ship’s teams during busy periods such as cast changes or event cruises
- Act as the liaison between the Entertainment Traveling Team and the lighting technology department at TUIC Entertainment Technology
- Inspecting procedures, workstations, work equipment, and technical equipment aboard the Mein Schiff fleet
- Verifying compliance with the TUIC Entertainment concept aboard the Mein Schiff fleet
Your Course & Your Talents
What you bring to the table:
- Completed training or degree in event technology with a specialization in lighting technology
- Several years of professional experience in lighting technology, including experience aboard a cruise ship
- Proficiency with MA Lighting lighting consoles, particularly GrandMA 2
- Proficiency with media servers, particularly Pandoras Box
- Knowledge of the design and operation of moving lights from major manufacturers (Martin Professional, Robe, GLP, Elation, etc.)
- Proficient in troubleshooting systems and technical equipment, including via remote diagnosis
- A structured approach to work, combined with a strong work ethic, reliability, and flexibility
- Strong communication skills, negotiation skills, and a high degree of independence
- Decisiveness, the ability to work under time pressure, and resilience under stress
- Familiarity with the subject matter of the area you will be responsible for
- Ability to work within budget while meeting financial targets
- Organizational skills, independence, and the ability to motivate employees
- Resilience, reliability, and integrity
- Proficiency with computers (especially MS Office)
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Willingness to travel frequently and flexibility (regular assignments on various ships in the Mein Schiff fleet)
